Brijwasi Sweets can trace its humble beginnings to a bhojnalaya in 1946, where a small piece of mithai was offered to diners at the end of the meal.
This Mithai received such loyal patronage that the bhojnalaya soon blossomed into a speciality Mithai Store.
What started as a standalone store in Kalbadevi quickly spun into a network of 25 stores across the city. Through the 74 years that have passed, Brijwasi Sweets has established itself as Mumbai's premier Indian Sweets and Savouries confectioner and retailer. That small piece of mithai is now a household name and a favourite among the people of Mumbai.

FOUNDERS & CURRENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
The founder, Shri Ramswaroop and his son Shri Bankelal Goyal, migrated from Brij, Mathura, to Mumbai in 1946. From 1946 to 2000, they worked tirelessly and established the empire that is Brijwasi Sweets. The brand has stood the test of time and inspite of the division of the family business amongst brothers it continues to grow aggressively under the current leadership team. In 2000, they passed the baton to grandson, Shri Mahendra Goyal, and two great-grandsons Pratik and Anuj Goyal. In 2006, the founder and son officially announced the creation of The Bankelal Group as an individual identity and created Brijwasi Sweets India Pvt. Ltd. to manage the retailing operations of the group. The group is the registered trademark owner of the brand.
The current leadership team has revolutionised the model with which the business was previously operating. In addition to the retail stores, they showcased the brand at various exhibitions and conventions and took the brand from a pure physical retailer to an Etailer making it available for online ordering. They also made major strides amongst leading corporates and institutions for supplying its bouquet of products and introducing customised gifting solutions. With their continual efforts, the brand has stood the test of time and continues to grow aggressively under the team.
Brijwasi Sweets is one of the oldest brands in the city with 2021 marking 75 years of the brand's heritage.
In 1946, the Founders formulated key recipes through careful selection, development, and review. The brand continues to use these recipes and has maintained its infamous taste and renowned flavours over the years.
With Rasgulla and Gulab Jamun, the brand was the first to introduce Bengali Sweets as a category in Mumbai in the 1950s.
In the 1950s, the brand was one of the first to adopt a delivery model delivering to households and offices.
The brand was the first in its fraternity to introduce a dedicated Customer Helpline and Loyalty Program.
Further the brand was one of the first sweet brands to offer E-Commerce services and be present on leading online ordering portals.
